Overview:

The Director of Production & QC is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production process and ensuring that products meet established quality standards. This role requires a combination of leadership, technical knowledge, and hands-on management to ensure efficient and high-quality production. The manager will work closely with other departments to optimize production workflows and address any issues that arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Management:
    • Oversee daily production operations to ensure adherence to schedules and production plans.
    • Collaborate and communicate directly with suppliers and vendors to ensure all deliveries are on time.
    • Lead the Production Team and coordinate with The Warehouse team to maintain optimal workflow and productivity.
    • Work closely with the Finance Team to develop and implement production schedules, processes, and procedures.
    • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable agreements for the organization.
    • Ensure suppliers can scale their capacity to meet the demands of Kitsch's rapidly expanding business.
    • Monitor and manage production budgets and costs.
  • Quality Control:
    • Establish and maintain quality standards for products.
    • Develop and implement QC procedures and protocols both overseas and at arrival.
    • Conduct regular inspections and quality audits of the production process and finished products.
    • Identify and resolve any quality issues or defects in a timely manner.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records and documentation.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Manage and lead the production and QC team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
    • Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
    • Provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities for team members.
    • Ensure clear communication and alignment of team goals with overall company objectives.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Continuously assess and improve production processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
    • Implement lean manufacturing principles and other best practices.
    • Lead initiatives to reduce waste, optimize resources, and improve overall production performance.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in production and QC technologies.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with other departments, such as Finance, PD, Marketing, Amazon and Sales, to ensure alignment and support for production goals.
    • Communicate production status, issues, and updates to senior management.
    • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the availability of high-quality materials and components.
    • Facilitate cross-functional meetings to address production and quality challenges.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and industry standards.
    • Prepare for and manage internal and external audits.
    • Implement corrective actions and improvements based on audit findings and customer feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in production management and quality control, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of production processes, quality control methodologies, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in using production management and quality control software/tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
