About Us

KITSCH is proud to be recognized as a self-financed, female-owned global accessory brand built on positivity and pure hard work. Established in 2010, with a business plan no longer than a paragraph, Kitsch has grown from door to door sales to selling products in over 27 countries across 20,000 retail locations worldwide.

We believe that everyone should feel confident when purchasing our products no matter your hair type, style or budget.

About the Role:

We're looking for a Senior Technical Designer to own the technical execution of our hair accessories category and be the production backbone of our Art department. This is a senior, high-ownership role. You'll be the person our design team, Product Development, and overseas vendors rely on to make sure what we design actually gets built correctly, on time, and on brand.

You'll manage tech packs and spec sheets from brief to production approval, lead vendor and factory technical communication, own our commercial presentation output (line sheets, newness decks, quarterly trend reports), and help build the systems and templates that keep our growing team scalable. This is not a support role — it's a leadership position for someone who wants real ownership and is ready to bring both technical rigor and creative perspective to the table.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Production & Accuracy

  • Own tech packs and spec sheets for the hair accessories category from initial brief through production-ready approval, with ≥99% accuracy
  • Anticipate print, material, and construction limitations before sampling, not after, and communicate them clearly to the team
  • Lead resolution of complex production challenges and serve as the technical authority when issues arise with vendors or factories
  • Ensure all CADs, dielines, line sheets, and spec systems reflect current brand guidelines with zero brand-related corrections at the factory

Vendor & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead technical conversations with overseas factories and vendors, manage feedback loops, resolve issues, and protect quality and timelines
  • Translate complex technical information into clear direction for non-technical partners in Product Development, Marketing, and Sales
  • Partner with PD on materials and finishes refinement to support premium product perception and consumer satisfaction

Systems & Process Ownership

  • Own and continuously improve technical templates, file libraries, and production standards
  • Establish and maintain clean file organization and version control systems that scale with the team
  • Identify process gaps and implement improvements that make the department faster and more consistent

Commercial Presentation & Trend Intelligence

  • Produce quarterly line sheets and newness decks with elevated layouts, accurate product and technical information, and sales-ready storytelling
  • Deliver a monthly Trend Report covering color direction, print and pattern, materials and finishes, and product development trends
  • Translate trend insights into actionable recommendations that influence upcoming development — you're not just building decks, you're helping shape the line
What are we looking for in you?
  • 5+ years of technical design experience in a consumer product environment — beauty, accessories, apparel, or adjacent industries
  • Master-level proficiency in tech pack and spec sheet creation; deep knowledge of materials, construction, finishes, and LAB color values
  • Proven track record of managing factory and vendor relationships directly, including overseas production partners
  • Experience owning commercial presentation design — line sheets, sell-in decks, or newness decks that are both visually elevated and technically accurate
  • Strong systems thinker — you've built or improved templates, libraries, or processes that made a team more efficient, and you can point to the results
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and the full Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with Asana or similar project management tools a plus
  • Hair accessories category experience preferred — not required, but you should be excited to learn it fast

You'll thrive here if you:

  • Move fast and stay organized — Kitsch runs at pace and you'll be managing multiple projects and categories simultaneously
  • Own your work completely — you don't wait to be told something is wrong; you catch it, flag it, and fix it
  • Communicate clearly across cultures and time zones — our factory partners are international and our team is too
  • Have no ego about the work — you'll do senior-level strategic thinking and roll up your sleeves on production details in the same day
  • Are genuinely curious about trends and product — you follow materials, finishes, and category developments because it interests you, not just because it's part of the job.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits
  • A real ownership stake in the product — your work shows up in 32,000+ retailers worldwide
  • A collaborative, low-ego team that moves fast and genuinely cares about what we make
  • Direct access to leadership and the ability to shape how the department grows — this role has a clear path to expanded scope as the team scales
  • A company built from the ground up by someone who believed in the product — that culture is still here
